The new Garden of Flowers has been open for almost 3 weeks now, and to see the pictures and hear of the stories of children is almost as though nothing ever happened, like the Taliban were a bad dream…

Of course it’s not a dream; they are still there. But fortunately, our team has been able to rent the new house, invite children from the neighborhood, and come together and work together with no issues at all. They are careful and cautious, but are feeling very good being back at work and spending their days with these new children.

Right now there are 12 children, and the team will keep bringing more children  – there are many interested families in the neighborhood, and the team wants to have as many as they can, aiming for 20 or even more.

Besides the peaceful and stimulating Montessori environment, which the children are enjoying immensely, the food aspect is vitally important now. The teachers said that these children are coming hungry, and eagerly eating large quantities of food. So we are even more grateful that we have been able to reopen, for the children’s sake and their parents’ as well.
