Dear MEPO supporters,
It was just 5 days ago that we wrote you in regards to the Taliban in Kabul, to update about the Garden of Flowers and about MEPO’s plan to help internal refugee families. Immediately your emails and donations began arriving, with your great response to the crisis. So far we have raised over $9000 to be used for displaced families in Kabul. This is to let you know that as soon as the banks open and the security situation improves, two of our male staff will be out there locating families and either distributing cash, food, or other life essentials.
We will keep you informed of any developments. Right now the Garden of Flowers staff is still at home and doing ok, although obviously uncertain about the future. They, like everyone else, are waiting to see how the situation unfolds. The school is still closed.
We are truly truly grateful for your compassion and we all hold hands for the sake of peace and safety of men, women and children in Afghanistan. Thank you for being here with us.
